Frequently Asked Questions
What can you expect at BECC?
  • Where do you meet? Belvidere Evangelical Covenant Church meets in our own facility at 220 E Harrison Street that was originally built in the 1950s after relocated to this property from our original church on Main Street in downtown. We have a beautiful sanctuary, classrooms, lobbies, etc.
  • Where do I park? Parking is available on three of the four sides of the church: in front on Harrison Street, in the back parking lot  with entrances on Main or Van Buren, or on the side of the church (where handicapped parking is located) off Main Street.
  • Is the church handicapped accessible? Yes, there is a lift for those needing it which is located on the corner of Harrison and Main Streets. It is clearly marked.
  • What should I wear? Come as you are. Some people dress up, some people dress in shorts or jeans. Just be comfortable. No one will judge you. The air conditioning is on in the warm months, so wear layers if you happen to get cold easily.
  • What should I bring? Just bring yourself and your family. If you want, you can bring your own Bible, or you can borrow one of our pew Bibles.
  • What is there for my kids? We are building a new children's ministry program for kids which we plan to go live this fall. The new children's ministry will serve kids birth through fifth grade. Until then, we have a family room in the rear of the sanctuary where you can sit with your kids to participate in the service. Or, bring them right into the main service. We love kids and families.
  • Will I feel welcomed? We will do our best to welcome you to our church family. We have greeters at the entrances to shake your hand, greet you with a smile and friendly word, and to hand you a paper bulletin with information about the church. We won't "pounce" on you as a visitor, but we will reach out to say hi and welcome you.
